Speaker recess covers for Trenner&Friedl Pharoah speakers
The speaker recess covers or rather the "covers" for the cavities with drivers in the Trenner & Friedl Pharoah, were the subject of one of the most unusual commissions. Unusual, especially considering the rather unorthodoxl conditions for this type of work.
The original speaker covers coated with an acoustically permeable material and attached rather clumsily, were to be replaced with new ones, with the difference that this time the speakers were to be completely visible. An additional requirement was a perfect fit with the recess and the edges of the drivers. Visible clearance was out of the question.

The original speaker covers were made of 16 mm thick plywood had additional sheet metal elements which, together with the neodymium magnets installed in the fronts of the speakers, ensured stable positioning in the recesses.
For the new pieces, the material had to be changed to MDF because the client opted for a perfectly smooth black satin finish, which wouldn't have been possible with plywood, or at least would have required much more unnecessary work.
A significant obstacle in the entire process was the fact that the original grille, which served as a sample, had to be shipped from Ireland, and two raw, new samples were sent back at intervals for fitting, which "slightly" slowed down the entire process.

Ultimately, the order was completed properly and flawlessly on the client's behalf, and the speakers with the new grilles look very good.
