The enclosures, with a net volume of approximately 6.3 liters, were carefully designed with optimal sound quality in mind. Plywood thicknesses of 18 mm for the front and back panels and 12 mm for the side frames, reinforced with an additional layer of MDF, provide not only structural rigidity but also reduce unwanted resonances — which is crucial for the purity and clarity of the reproduced sound.
The 45-degree miter joints used in the project not only enhance the visual appeal but also allow for the continuity of the wood veneer grain pattern, adding an extra visual value. Such details are important for people who appreciate not only the sound but also the aesthetics of audio equipment.
The selection of drivers, such as the Peerless by Tymphany DX20BF00-04 as the tweeter and the SB Acoustics SB12CACS25-8 as the mid-woofer, is well thought out. The partially white diaphragm of the mid-woofer harmonizes with the aesthetic of the speakers, and its design ensures good sound quality. Additional support in the form of the SB Acoustics SB15NRXC30-8 passive radiator enhances low frequencies, contributing to fuller bass reproduction that is smooth and precise.
The crossover, specifically designed to work with the mentioned drivers, allows for playback across a wide frequency range from 45 Hz to 20 kHz at an impedance of 8 Ohms.
An efficiency level of 83 dB means that these speakers require slightly more power from an amplifier. However, with the right equipment selection, they offer an extremely satisfying audio experience. They perform very well when paired with linear amplifiers and high-current tube amplifiers.
