CORAL Flat 10" bespoke vintage speaker cabinets
The cabinets were custom-made according to a design provided by the client, which assumed an open structure with a large rectangular BASS-Reflex opening in the front, which also serves as the end of a very simplified transmission line.
The basic design principles included joining structural elements at 45-degree angles, inner bracing to provide greater rigidity to reduce resonance and recessed mounting of the front and rear panels. Rear panels were also designed to be removable if necessary through the use of recessed metric sockets and mounting screws.
The cabinets were finished with a modified amaranto wood veneer, which was additionally stained before being varnished.
The fronts—as requested—were given a textured finish using thick acrylic paint applied with a thick sponge using the padding technique.
The thick, elegant material for the fixed speaker grilles was supplied by the client. The client installed the speaker terminals and speakers himselfs.
