Enclosures for 2-way bookshelf speakers, designed for a long-time client, represent the essence of classic vintage style. They are primarily inspired by British speaker designs from the 1970s and 1980s.
The enclosures were made from laminated MDF boards, which not only provided the necessary thickness but also increased the overall mass of the speakers - crucial for reducing resonances that can negatively affect sound quality.
A natural bleached walnut veneer, finished with a rich mahogany pigment, gives the cabinets an aesthetic and elegant character, referencing timeless design trends.

The unusual finish of the front panels, achieved by covering them with thick graphite-colored felt, gives the speakers a distinctive look while reflecting the individuality of the design. The use of a "recessed" horn for the tweeter allows for a smooth, continuous front surface, creating a cohesive visual composition.
The placement of the mid-woofer inside the enclosure, along with the passive radiator positioned at the back of the speaker, are thoughtful design choices aimed at optimizing low-frequency reproduction.
Additionally, damping with a combination of bitumen mat and synthetic wool enhances the enclosure’s acoustic efficiency by minimizing unwanted sound reflections and improving overall sound quality.
This project merges classic aesthetics with modern engineering, offering not only visual appeal but also advanced acoustic properties—making these speakers a unique solution for more demanding users.
